Hydrogenation of brown-coal tar
- Výzkumný ústav pro hnědé uhlí a.s., Most
The paper outlines laboratory experiments on hydrogenation of brown coal tar which is a by-product of brown coal pyrolysis. The experiments were conducted in a pressure reactor under 300 degrees of Celsius and different pressure of hydrogen used as a hydrogenation medium. Brown coal tar sample was prepared by the pyrolysis of brown coal samples representing different brown coal ranks occurring in the coal basin in the north-western Bohemia. Qualitative parameters were determined for the tar as a feedstock and for the hydrogenation products - gaseous, liquid, organic phase, and hydrogenation residue. The yield of these products was also determined in dependence on the hydrogen working pressure during hydrogenation.
