The planting technology of hydroseeding, further improved by using shrub and tree species seeds, was tested at the Nástup Tušimice Mine in order to control erosion on slopes of a steeper gradient, which are composed of pedologically different overburden rocks where initial weed communities had already developed by primary succession. One year after hydroseeding application, two completely different situations were observed concerning vegetation cover and erosion control, while no tree or shrub species contained in the hydroseeding slurry occurred.
