The paper presents findings concerning the conditions of 17-year-old settling basin called Lotta Marie, where coal ash originating from brown coal combustion in Ledvice power plant was disposed and forest reclamation was subsequently performed. We evaluated the technical reclamation of the site performed by application of fertilizable soils, soil properties of the developed Anthroposol, silvicultural measures, and growth vitality of tree species. Based on the performed investigation, the conditions of this reforested site is described as follows: great heterogeneity of the total thickness of the overlaying stratum formed from fertilizable soils, extreme damages to plantations by game (browsing, fraying, rubbing). Populus canadensis, Populus nigra var. pyramidalis and Alnus glutinosa (L.) can be considered as a group of tree species of high reclamation importance, but already showing symptoms of premature aging; another group of tree species of reclamation importance, where however no symptoms of premature aging were observed, consists of Betula pendula Roth., Populus tremula L., Larix decidua Mill., Pinus sylvestris L., Quercus robur L. and Fraxinus ornus L., whereas Fraxinus excelsior L., Acer negundo L., Acer pseudoplatanus L. and Sorbus aucuparia L. did not prosper at this site very much.
