Comparison of the quality of the solid alternative fuels (TAP) and the products after their combustion with regard to the occurrence of selected trace elements

Ing. Vladimíra Brzáková, Mgr. Eva Pertile, Ph.D.

The article is focused on the utilisation of non-renewable natural resources and an effort to replace them with solid alternative fuels that are produced from the normal municipal waste. Their exploitation in industry and the energy sector is the current topic for the investigation of non-renewable natural resources. The article gives the list of various types of alternative fuels and their various components and describes their characteristics and hazardous properties. The work describes the distribution of selected trace elements - lead, chromium and arsenic - between the products of combustion of solid alternative fuels. The main aim of the experimental part of the work was to monitor the content of the selected elements in the original samples and in the ashes after burning. The resulting loss of trace elements originated in the transition of these elements in the combustion gases and fly ashes.
