Ten years of the slopes automatic monitoring of open pit mine ČSA (period 2005-2014)

RNDr. Jan Burda, Ph.D., Ing. Petr Stanislav

Based on the initiative of the Department of geodesy and geology of the Mostecká uhelná a.s. the evaluation of side slopes of the open pit mine ČSA performed in the quarterly measurements was replaced by a continuous using the robotic total station with automatic target recognition. By the stabilisation of reflecting prisms in the territory, including the construction of protection points, the system for the monitoring of the side slopes has been created, which became the key method of whole monitoring system. This technical solution, which was chosen over a decade ago, works reliably in the almost unaltered condition up to this day.
