Geological hazards of mining and their reflection in the methods of the geological survey and geological documentation of mining in the open pit mines of SD a.s.
In a consequence of a number of large accidents of bucket wheel excavators on the open-cast mine Bílina caused by to block slides of clayey rocks in 2005-2011 years, a series of precautions, leading to the elimination of this type of accidents has been introduced. These precautions, among others, were made at the field of geological data acquisition, its interpretation and practical using. Massive introduction of new methods and renewal of old classic approaches and methods with support of computer aided data processing together with further development of new software systems led not only to the enhancement of quality of working data for production purposes but also to new geological discoveries.
