Increasing the lifespan of wheeled excavator cutting parts

The article briefly presents the progress of work on the development of new types of buckets with corner cutters of the KU 800 Wheel Excavator and thus follows up with its content on a series of articles describing activities in the given issue for the period under review. Attention is paid to the results of operational testing of new prototypes of cutters on a real machine in mining conditions at the Vršany quarry site, on the basis of which further designs and modifications of the replaceable corner cutters were created. The new replaceable corner cutter was then mounted on the KU 800 excavator in order to verify the functionality of the geometry of the cutters in operating conditions and to determine the appropriate geometry of the cutters and abrasion protection for the given mining conditions.
