RNDr. Michal Řehoř, Ph.D., Ing. Pavel Schmidt, Ing. František Helebrant, CSc.

For the third year, the Brown Coal Research Institute (VUHU), together with scientific teams from several European countries, has been involved in the research programme EU project TEXMIN - "The impact of EXtreme weather events on MINing operations", which deals with the impacts of climate change on the mining areas of individual countries. This paper summarises the first results achieved by the ACA. It summarizes the longterm climate development in the Czech Republic and in Europe, the climate development of the Most Basin region and the first results of addressing the impact of climate change on reclamation. The main attention in the article is devoted to the as yet unpublished development of concentrations of air pollutants in the atmosphere of the mining region of north-west Bohemia.
