Hydrogeological regime of groundwater around Lake Medard in 2021
The article briefly introduces the history of filling the Medard Lake and evaluates the changes in the hydrogeological regime of groundwater in its immediate vicinity in 2021. The hydrogeological conditions in the area have been mapped since 2008, when the drawing of mine water from the bottom of the quarry was terminated. The final level of the lake (400.0 m above sea level) was reached in March 2017. Three observation bore holes (MPT13, HG14 and MPT16) were used to assess the groundwater levels around the lake in 2021. The obtained measurement results help illustrate the view of the hydrogeological conditions in the area, which have occurred since the filling of the lake. After reaching the final level, the hydrogeological changes are mainly related to climatic influences.
