Large occupations of agricultural land - probably the biggest disadvantage of solar power plants, more and more countries are trying to solve by placing photovoltaic panels on the roofs of factory halls, shopping centres, offices and residential houses. However, systems using inland water areas are also growing rapidly. At the end of 2019, there were more than 340 floating power plants in the world with a production capacity of almost 3 GW in approximately 40 countries.
