Summary of solutions and main output of the international TEXMIN project
The paper presents the main content of the completed international research project entitled "The impact of extreme weather events on mining operations" (TEXMIN), which was co-financed by the EU Coal and Steel Research Fund and in which the Brown Coal Research Institute a.s. also took part as a researcher. The aim of the project was to provide project partners and stakeholders dealing with the issue of mining or post-mining activities with guidance on how to deal with long-term and sudden impacts on operating, closed and abandoned coal mines, quarries and spoil heaps caused by climate change and extreme weather events.
