Zpravodaj Hnědé uhlí 2017, 57(3)
The production of electricity in thermal power plants also brings a problem with the application of combustion products in the landscape - fly ash. Physico-chemical properties of fly-ash reflect its origin, the combustion process itself and the composition of the feedstock. Utilization of fly ash in the countryside often faces the instability of this material with no biological recovery, without internal aggregates binding and often with extreme hydrological characteristics. The complex of these primary characteristics often does not allow healthy growth and development of the targeted vegetation. For this reason, it is advisable to mix ash with material...
Data assessment focused on the evaluation of the CO2 and CO content in relation to the temperature of the fuel
Ing. Vlastimil Moni, Ph.D.
Zpravodaj Hnědé uhlí 2017, 57(3)
The paper summarizes the assessment of data obtained in the frame of the research project entitled "Research of possibilities to predict the formation of self-heating and subsequent self-ignition of coal fuels". The author has carried out a detailed analysis of the measured data with expert comments and summarized the results of research with a focus on evaluation of the CO2 and CO content in relation to the temperature of the fuel.
Changes in the groundwater hydrological regime in the vicinity of Lake Medard during filling and just after its completion
Ing. Petr Valvoda, Ing. Jaromír Fultner
Zpravodaj Hnědé uhlí 2017, 57(3)
The article reviews changes in the hydrological regime of groundwater and old mine water in the immediate vicinity of Lake Medard in the entire stage of the filling and just after reaching the final planned level of Lake at 400 m a.s.l. Hydrogeological conditions has been mapped since the year 2008, starting at the termination of mine water pumping at the bottom of the quarry, up to the present. The evaluation of groundwater regime in the vicinity of the filled Lake is currently based on the values collected from 4 observation wells (MPT12, MPT13, and MPT16 HG14) monitoring regularly fluctuation of water levels. The results obtained from these measurements...
Mineralogical situation of bentonite deposit Rokle
RNDr. Michal Řehoř, Ph.D., Ing. Jiří Svejkovský
Zpravodaj Hnědé uhlí 2017, 57(3)
The article is dedicated to the mineralogical situation of the bentonite deposit Rokle. The topic of the research was the first evaluation of the mineralogy of bentonite and kaolinite quarry. The article summarises the results of mapping, sampling and X RAY analyses within the period 2015 to 2017. The main attention is devoted to the occurrence of petrified trees and primarily to the occurrence of the calcite agates. These samples rank among the best calcite agates in the Czech Republic.
Geological hazards of mining and their reflection in the methods of the geological survey and geological documentation of mining in the open pit mines of SD a.s.

Zpravodaj Hnědé uhlí 2017, 57(3)
In a consequence of a number of large accidents of bucket wheel excavators on the open-cast mine Bílina caused by to block slides of clayey rocks in 2005-2011 years, a series of precautions, leading to the elimination of this type of accidents has been introduced. These precautions, among others, were made at the field of geological data acquisition, its interpretation and practical using. Massive introduction of new methods and renewal of old classic approaches and methods with support of computer aided data processing together with further development of new software systems led not only to the enhancement of quality of working data for production...
