Forest areas cultivated on the dump sites represent by their concept, composition of habitats and arrangement, a unique work built in a landscape devastated by the coal mining. Thanks to their selected concept and arrangement on the anthropogenic substrates of mine dumps, spoil heaps and waste piles, they are a unique work from the botanical, dendrology and forestry point of view. Current projects of forest treating (HúL) are completely inaccurate for reasons of pedology, dendrology and farming conditions. The composition of selected tree species of deciduous, coniferous and mixed stands was chosen based on the detected chemical, physical and mechanical...

The deployment of technical diagnostics in the start-up of mining technology in the underground mine

Ing. Vlastimil Moni, Ph.D., Ing. David Šeděnka

Zpravodaj Hnědé uhlí 2017, 57(4)

The article deals with a brief description of the deployment of technical diagnostics within the putting the mine pumped-storage hydroelectric plant in Ostrava mine into operation, utilizing methods of vibration diagnostics, thermal diagnostics and alignment. Power plant with an output of about 650 kilowatts utilizes the altitude potential of a deep mine shaft of the Jeremenko mine after termination of mining operations. The mining of black coal at the underground mine Jeremenko in Ostrava-Vitkovice ended in December 1992.

The methodology for estimation of the amount of fugitive emissions for the surface open-pit mines of fuel and other mineral raw materials

Zpravodaj Hnědé uhlí 2017, 57(4)

Within the years 2015-2016, Brown Coal Research Institute investigated the research project "Research of fugitive emissions of solid pollutants (TPM) from open-pit mines of fuels and other raw materials (excluding stone quarries) and the proposal of methodologies for their determination". The main output of the project is the certified methodology, which includes the determination of emission factors for the major sources of emissions in the extraction of fuels and raw materials in the Czech Republic and the determination of fugitive emissions from the sources of air pollution including the proposed correction factors. The paper summarizes the basic...

Deciding parameters of commonly exploited brown coal deposits suitable for the production of liquid fuels

Ing. Lukáš Anděl, Jaroslav Kusý, RNDr. Ing. Josef Valeš, Ing. Petr Svoboda, CSc.

Zpravodaj Hnědé uhlí 2017, 57(4)

The paper describes the purpose of the international project DIRPRIMCOAL, and one part of its solution, which deals with the sampling, analysis of the composition of commonly mined coal and determination of main deciding parameters determining its suitability for direct liquefaction process, which should be proposed under the project. The subject of this research task is to design direct liquefaction process, the process conditions, the use of appropriate materials and the selection and use of appropriate catalysts.
