The aim of the provided paper is a comprehensive assessment of the status of the locality Panský les, both from the perspective of pedology and hydropedology, so from the perspective of meteorology and moisturising. A detailed evaluation of the quality of the soil has identified the risk of limiting the growth of vegetation unable to withstand the high value of soil reaction. In addition, a very low ability to sorb elements was also identified, and therefore a higher risk of washing out provided nutrients. From the perspective of soil moisture, water is mainly concentrated in the upper parts of the soil, which is important, since the atmospheric precipitation...

Zpravodaj Hnědé uhlí 2018, 58(3)
The Brown Coal Research Institute began in the year 2018 research project aimed at optimizing the shape and material of cutting elements of excavators and mining machines. This research was essential for improving the efficiency of mining process in conditions of the Most Basin. The aim of this article is to present the results of the first stage of the solution. The article describes a characteristic of the geological conditions of main mining localities in the Most Basin. Particular attention is devoted to the occurrence of fixed hard positions and the horizons of the sands, which are particularly important for the implementation of the resear
