Changes in the groundwater hydrological regime in the vicinity of Lake Medard during filling and just after its completion

Ing. Petr Valvoda, Ing. Jaromír Fultner

The article reviews changes in the hydrological regime of groundwater and old mine water in the immediate vicinity of Lake Medard in the entire stage of the filling and just after reaching the final planned level of Lake at 400 m a.s.l. Hydrogeological conditions has been mapped since the year 2008, starting at the termination of mine water pumping at the bottom of the quarry, up to the present. The evaluation of groundwater regime in the vicinity of the filled Lake is currently based on the values collected from 4 observation wells (MPT12, MPT13, and MPT16 HG14) monitoring regularly fluctuation of water levels. The results obtained from these measurements provide complete view of hydrogeological conditions in the immediate vicinity of the Lake, both during the filling and after its termination.
