The paper informs about measurements conducted on bucket wheel excavator K 2000. The measurements were performed in order to verify measuring procedures on wheel excavator SchRs 1320. These works were made within the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the research project No. FT-TA4/018: Modern trends of increasing of equipment reliability for open-cast mining of utility minerals. The main goals of the project are following: verification of the design of the upper structure including a unified caterpillar undercarriage for mining of economic minerals and overburden; enhancement of excavator operational reliability; energy intensity minimization; minimization of human labour share; excavator diagnostic system for residual operational life assessment, for control system optimization, and for maintenance system of the excavator.
