Accuracy of the spatial position determination of excavator wheels
Since 2006, when the research task "Positioning of the wheel of the excavator K800/103/N1 via GPS", started, the significant move forward appeared in the area of the development of the functionality of the system itself, as well as in the number of its deployment on the giant machines. Currently, the system for determining the spatial position of the excavator wheel is used in real time on a total of 20 excavators in Severočeské doly a.s. The accuracy with which the spatial coordinates of the excavator wheel are calculated is very important for the application of the system in practice in the overburden and lignite coal mining. The article explains the solution of this topic and the procedure of the verification of the achieved accuracy.
